Aim Arena

Hit as many targets as you can: accuracy counts, not just speed.

Players
1 to 8 players (you can play alone).
Length
30, 45 or 60 seconds per match; in Frenzy there is no time limit.

Overview

In Aim Arena everyone plays at the same time, each in their own arena. A target appears: tap or click it before it disappears and another one arrives right away. When you play alone you see your personal score; with several players, whoever scores most wins.

It is a reflexes game that you understand in a second. The difficulty settings and the Frenzy mode make it suitable for a relaxed warm-up as well as for record chasers.

How a round goes

  1. The host picks the difficulty, the duration (30, 45 or 60 seconds), the target size and how many targets appear together.
  2. A target appears: you tap or click it before it vanishes, and another one comes straight away.
  3. Each target hit gives points, more if it is small. Misses count too: accuracy, meaning hits compared with attempts, multiplies your score.
  4. Consecutive hits trigger a combo.
  5. When the time is up, scores are compared.

Tips to win

  • Clicking at random does not pay: accuracy multiplies the score, so a miss costs more than it seems.
  • Keep your eyes on the center of the arena and let your peripheral vision spot the next target.
  • Do not chase the combo at all costs: a combo broken by haste is worth less than a steady run of clean hits.
  • On touch, use a single finger and keep your hand still near the center, so the movement towards the target is shorter.

For the host: settings and tips

  • For a group playing for the first time, start with easy difficulty, 30 seconds and fixed-size targets.
  • With variable-size targets and 1 to 3 at once, the match gets more hectic and rewards whoever picks well which to hit first.
  • In Frenzy everybody plays at their own pace, one target at a time and with no time limit, in four stages: from the 1st to the 10th hit the target stays still, from the 11th to the 20th it moves slowly, from the 21st to the 30th it moves randomly and is visible for 10 seconds, from the 31st only 5 seconds.
  • In Frenzy you get a single retry per match and a second mistake eliminates you; whoever hits the most targets wins.
